We have had a very busy few weeks lately!
We have been going on lots of holidays with our bags and suticases using the boat and making aeroplanes and ferries out of the blocks. We have been all over the world. Miss Stewart even sent us a postcard when she went on a real holiday to Orkney so we have been writing postcards out too!
We have been playing a lot with the toy cars recently too. The tuff tray was turned into lots of bridges made out of tape and the cars could even stick to the tape too! We added in some ramps to make it even more exciting. We used the blocks to make ramps for the cars too, they went really fast down them!
Our interests in cars is also very much catered for in our outside play. We love the bikes and big sit on vehicles, and the sandpit is a great place for us to use the smaller cars and create bridges and ramps.
We were very excited to watch Up Helly Aa on the whiteboard and we made our own shields and helmets too.
Last Friday we went for a walk since it was such a nice day. We stopped in the multicourt and played some games too.
As we move nearer to bairns going into Primary 1 we introduce even more literacy and numeracy opportunities into the bairns play. There has been fantastic mark making and letter formations done by the bairns lately!
Yesterday we had a very exciting visitor to nursery, Zara and Willa’s dog Rosie! She was very cute, we thought she was a bit like a teddy bear and she was very friendly! We got to clap her too.
Today we have been readying the garden planters for planting seeds as we get nearer to Spring. We found old bulbs in the bags of gutter so we have washed them and replanted them to see if anything grows. Watch this space!
It has been such a busy term so far and everyone seems very happy to be back.
