The last few weeks

What a busy time we have had over the past few weeks at nursery! We had a visit from the toothbrushing ladies to get the flouride varnish painted on our teeth. They visit us every term to see how we are getting on with our teethbrushing, and we brush our teeth every day after snack too.

We continue to be very busy making new resource for the garden. Our latest project was new roads to use in the garden with the toy cars. We had a great time painting them with the black paint. Some of us got very messy doing it! We also painted some new stones for wir outside peerie hoose.

We absolutely love playing out in the garden. We have such a variety of things to play with and we are always super busy!

Mrs Irvine was up playing with us one day and we were playing with magnets. We went all around the nursery to find things that the magnets could stick to. We got quite a big pile!

We have been playing a lot of ‘doctors’ games just now. We are very good at putting bandages on each other!

Our preschoolers have been doing a lot of transition walks and quick visits to the school these past few weeks. This week they got to go for a play in their new P1 classroom and they had great fun!

One day at lunchtime we were having a huge discussion about the jobs we would like to do when we grow up. Here are some of our ideas.

This week wir preschoolers got to go to the canteen for a school lunch on Wednesday! It was fish & chips, which is one of wir favourite lunches. We did a very good job following the canteen routines and we all had clean plates! The cooks were very impressed.

Today was a very exciting day, we got a visit from Donut the lamb! We got to feed her her bottle and we showed her around everywhere, including inside the nursery! She had a nappy on for a mercy because she pooped it! We didn’t want her to leave, and we hope she comes back to visit again very soon.

New term

Everyone is very happy to be back for the final term of this academic year! We have had much excitement this last couple of weeks with firstly a massive frog appearing in the nursery garden, which we put to the pond.

We were so excited about the frog and couldn’t believe our luck when Hazel’s mum told us they had hundreds of tadpoles, so Miss Stewart fetched the tank out of the basement and Hazel and her mum delivered tadpoles to us. We are watching them carefully every single day to see if they are growing legs yet!

We have been over to the poly tunnel and the ponds a few times since coming back from the holidays to look for frogs and tadpoles, and up until today it’s just the tadpoles in the pond that we have seen. Today in the polytunnel we couldn’t believe our luck when Mrs Anderson spotted not one but two frogs! She managed to catch them and we released them into the pond as well.

We love going for walks to the polytunnel to check how everything is growing. We love to have a run around up at the Secondary too. Today we went to the multicourt as well and had a game of ‘What’s the time Mr Wolf!’. Getting out and about is so good for our physical development, and also gives us a chance to practice our road safety.

We have been very busy playing out in the garden too since we got back. We have had to replant some of our flowers into bigger planters and they are now out in the garden to hopefully keep growing too.

Of course we have been busy playing and creating inside nursery too. We are looking forward to a busy term, especially for our pre-schoolers who will be starting transition visits to Primary 1 very soon.
