New Year, new term

Happy New Year everybody! Da bairns were delighted to get back to nursery after the festive to see their friends again and tell all their news. The Christmas house was gone and a boat had appeared in its place! The bairns have been vikings, fishermen and played family games aboard it. They have also made lots of other modes of transport with the big blocks too. Activities like these are so good for our gross motor development.

Last Friday we got wir suits and boots on and went for a walk to see if we could find any snow anywhere. We found very icy snow at the leisure centre which was great fun to play on. The pond over at the Secondary was completely frozen too! We hoped that there weren’t any frogs stuck under the ice!

We have been very busy playing inside and outside since we got back.

On Tuesday we turned the nursery into a cinema!

Today we decided to clean out the boat as it was full of gutter, leaves and grass. Everyone worked really hard to get all the mess out of the bottom then we used hot soapy water to scrub it with swabs. They got very dirty very fast! Then we had to scoop the water out with wir scoopy shovels. It’s so clean looking noo!

It’s been a busy first couple of weeks back and we can’t wait to see what the rest of the term brings!
