We have had a busy start to the new term. Our Topic this term is, ‘In the Garden.’ and we have been looking at all the trees, animals and plants in our own school garden to plan and think about what we would like to learn. The class wants to learn more about the environment and would like to learn more about trees. A number of us said we would like to plant things, make birdfeeders and to build bug hotels. We were also pleased to see the trees planted as part of the queen’s green canopy in our school garden.
We have started to learn about money in active ways, we have set up a shop and can identify all the coins. We are learning to calculate totals and have started to calculate how much change we can get.
Our handwashing experiment has thrown up some interesting results, as you can see from the pictures it is best to wash your hands to keep the germs off. We were shocked to see that the hand sanitiser does nothing, almost as bad as not washing your hands at all!
