Our Footballers aren’t they only ones to have made it to the Finals of their league games. Our Sound Swifts Team played in the Final of the Schools Netball North League and played very well, placing 2nd overall in the North League – Well Done Sound Swifts!
Many thanks to all parents for their support and a special thanks to our netball coaches, Jennifer and Alina.
Well Done to our Sound 1 Football Team who played in the Schools South League Final on Monday night. The top 2 teams from the 2 winter leagues met at Scalloway and Sound 1 played Aith, Tingwall, Baltasound and South Mainland. In a very closely fought last match, Sound 1 came away runners up after some great games of football.
A huge well done to all involved and parents for their support.
A special thanks to Tony for accompanying the Team to all their games this season, and to both our Sound School Parent Council and the Tesco Stronger Starts Grant Scheme for funding the purchase of new strips for both our Netball and Football Teams 🙂
Back in May 2025 pupils from P5-7 worked with the ‘A Place In Childhood Team’ and members of the SIC Development Plans & Heritage Dept on an experiential mapping session.
During this day, pupils co-created:
An experiential map highlighting their views and experiences of their local place including:
Planning a local tour
Co-creating a final map and set of priorities for action through photography, in-depth discussions, and creative exercises.
The final stage of the plan culminated in a half-day Showcase event where pupil representatives presented their ideas directly to local stakeholders.
Mrs Birrell accompanied our representatives to Islesburgh last week, where they did a fantastic job of sharing their ideas for change in their local community!
Primary 3 are hoping to spread a little happiness this year by taking part in the Shoebox Appeal 2025. Please have a look at their video about how you can be involved. Thank you 🙂
