Back in May 2025 pupils from P5-7 worked with the ‘A Place In Childhood Team’ and members of the SIC Development Plans & Heritage Dept on an experiential mapping session.
During this day, pupils co-created:
An experiential map highlighting their views and experiences of their local place including:
Planning a local tour
Co-creating a final map and set of priorities for action through photography, in-depth discussions, and creative exercises.
The final stage of the plan culminated in a half-day Showcase event where pupil representatives presented their ideas directly to local stakeholders.
Mrs Birrell accompanied our representatives to Islesburgh last week, where they did a fantastic job of sharing their ideas for change in their local community!
