Welcome back to Sound School for the final term of this session. It is always a busy term with lots of transition events for P7 and our new P1 and Nursery children taking place, along with events like STEM week and Sports day.
Our values for this term are:
Happiness and Inclusion

P4 and Miss Stewart took part in the Shetland Youth Music Festival and sang 2 beautiful songs in the choir category. They received lovely feedback from the judge about the positive messages in their songs.

Sound Swifts netball team did very well to come 2nd in the School’s Netball tournament. The final was between Lunnasting Primary School and Sound Swifts. The Swifts played an very good game and came in 2nd overall to receive a silver medal. Well done Sound Swifts!
Welcome back to a slightly delayed term 3 due to weather conditions. We hope that everyone had a restful festive break.

We are looking forward to an exciting term 3 and our values for this term are Determination and Respect.
Hello and welcome everyone to session 2025-2026 at Sound School and Nursery.

Over the past few weeks Joy Duncan has been coming to school with her drums for Nursery, P1 and P2 to learn some drumming and rhythm skills. On Thursday afternoon we came together to celebrate and share the learning with our friends.
P2A sharing with their friends the warm up that they have learned with Joy.
P2B showing off their drumming skills.
P1B sharing their learning and fun that they have had over the past 6 weeks.
P1A did an excellent job of the name repetition game.
Nursery showing everyone how to dance and move.
After all of the classes had shared then we had the chance to dance to the beat. Some children chose to share their moves for others to copy.
It was a great afternoon of sharing learning and having fun with Joy.

Head over to the Nursery Blog for further details about ELC registration week.
