It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas!
We were very happy when Santa came to the school today! 🙂
Junior Road Safety Officers
We had a very important job this term.
We did lots of work around road safety, then delivered a presentation to all the classes to help keep all the children safe. We were very brave and supportive of each other when we had to talk in front of lots of big children. We were also delighted that Tony helped us out and that we had such great audiences wherever we went!
Topic
We have had lots of fun and found out amazing new facts during our Light and Dark Topic this term. We were really interested to see the moon out during the day and had lots of questions to help direct our learning. We found out how the moon pulls the seas and how we get tides. We measured the tide and were shocked to see how far it went out in just 5 hours!
Talking and Listening
We have been learning how to converse in a group. We have been given various roles and are beginning to understand when to talk and when to listen, how to give an opinion on a topic and how to give good eye-contact and listen well.
Hallowe’en Party 2024!
We all had an excellent party to celebrate Hallowe’en!

Royal Botanic Garden
We had a brilliant visit from The Royal Botanic Garden from Edinburgh this week.
We went on a scavenger hunt to find certain plants and special colours. When we found them, we took them back to the Gym and made a special setting for a story about a girl called Heather. In the story, she met a fairy, an Uirsk, a Bogle and a Ghillie Dhu. They helped her find her way home. She knew she was home when she saw the yellow flowers all around her cottage.
Bonjour!
We had fun learning a little French rhyme!
Bonjour Fifi et Blanche! 🙂
Shape Hunt!
We have been looking for shapes in the environment. We found lots of shapes outside and even more inside school!
We used tally marks to help us count how many we found and even managed to count in 5s! 🙂
