Farmer’s Market 15.06.17

What a great turnout we had. Thank you so much to all the grown ups who came to see us. The pupils really enjoyed baking for you, showing you around and spending time with you in class. All these events offer so many learning opportunities as well as lots of fun. The class enjoyed reading the big numbers on the scales when baking and learned very quickly that you can’t weigh accurately if you are leaning on the scales.

We hope you enjoyed the day as much as we did. Here are some photos of our very busy day. I have included the recipe for the marshmallow crispies and flapjacks as so many of the parents were asking. We used Pure sunflower spread which is dairy and gluten free so it was suitable for all pupils and parents but you can use whatever suits you and your family.

The class did a great job baking today and really enjoyed themselves. Thankfully they turned out yummy!

Thank you to Mrs Moar for all her hard work this term. She has been so busy and the farmer’s market could not happen without her.

Maths Games

We have being doing stations for our maths rotating around 4 tables.

This week our 4 stations have been snakes and ladders, ordering numbers, a maths game on the whiteboard and completing our workbook with Mrs Anderson.

Visitor 06.06.17

We had a visit yesterday from PC Rachel Branney. She came in to speak to us about what her job involves. She said her favourite part of her job was helping people. We heard about what to do if you are lost of if there is an emergency at home. A good point was raised that the pupils should all know their full name and address in case they need to phone 999 in an emergency. This will be the class homework for next week. A few pupils were lucky enough to have a shot of her belt, jacket, vest and hat.

Thanks to PC Rachel Branney for visiting. We really enjoyed having you at Sound School.
