We watched a video that explains the process of getting milk from a cow to your fridge at home.

The class enjoyed watching it and particularly liked the cute little calf. We are learning about what foods we make from milk and what foods we get from other farm animals. The class did a sorting activity this afternoon sorting pictures of foods into plant or animal.
Mrs Manson showed us how to plant sunflower seeds. We know they need water and sunlight to grow. We will keep an eye on them and see if anything appears.
We have been planting again this week. Here we are working with cress seeds. It was very exciting to come in on Monday to see they had grown already.
These are harder than they look.
Not more chalk!
This week we did Pedro the Penguin Goes to the Fun Fair
We did lots of jumping, stretching, marching, balancing, roaring like lions and walking like penguins. Here it is if anyone wants to have another go at home.
Friday 19th May
We had a very busy golden time in the adventure playground. Some pupils managed to do the balance beam for the first time. There was a lot of chasing Mrs Anderson going on. Over 2200 steps were taken according to her fitbit.
We spent some time looking at the shapes of the sunflower petals and colours used before attempting our own. We took our time and tried to make it as neat as possible. Look at how nice our display looks.
After learning about the different parts of a plant we decided to do an art activity to show what we had learned. We painted the sky and soil one day, the roots were made by gluing on wool and choosing a stem another day and the petals and leaves were cut out from felt on the third day. We cut out and added our labels to show we knew what each part was called. The pupils enjoyed using a variety of textures and were excited to see them all up on the wall looking stunning. It is a bit flowery in the P1 area with all our plants and sunflowers.
