We made some special gifts on Valentines Day.
We had to do lots of cutting, folding and stick. It was great practise of our fine motor skills.
We had to fold strips of paper to give our hearts bendy arms!
Happy Valentines Day! xx

We have had a great time outside this afternoon in the adventure playground.
It is the first time we have been in the adventure playground as a class.
We explored all of the adventure playground.
Most of us had been there before outside of school hours. We did lots of climbing, balancing, running, jumping and playing!
Last week we decided as a class that we wanted to do painting at Golden Time.
If we decide what to do at the beginning of the week it helps us to follow our class charter through the week as we have a nice treat to look forward to!
We did lots of lovely bright paintings!
We have been making up our own take away sums.
We used cubes.
We had to count the cubes to get the first number in our sum.
We then got to be Burglar Bill! We had to steal a few cubes from someone else and put them back in the box!
Once we got back to our seats we had to count how many cubes we had left. We put this in the answer part of our sum.
We then had to work out how many cubes had been stolen. We had to do a take away sum to get our answer.
We have been doing lots of hard work learning how to subtract numbers. Today we sorted out some subtraction sums.
We had to do the sums and write in the equals sign and the answer. Then we had to put the sum in the envelope that matched the answer.
We swapped envelopes with another table and checked the answers to the sums.
We have been sorting words this morning.
We got lots of words on our tables and we had to sort them out according to their last two letters.
We had to look carefully at the letters in the word and had to match the letters in the word to the letters on the sheet. If the endings matched we had to glue the word onto the sheet.
We only had 1 minute to find all the correct words and then we had to pass on the sheet to the next table. We had to work very quickly but also read the words carefully.
We have been learning about symmetry and butterflies. Our topic is the Very Hungry Caterpillar so we have been making some butterflies.
We used 2D shapes to make beautiful butterflies.
First we laid our the shapes on our butterflies.
Then we drew around the shapes to put the design on our butterflies.
