ERIC TIME – EVERYONE READING IN CLASS
Isn’t it lovely to see children enjoying reading?
VIKING SHIELDS
Since it was a lovely sunny afternoon yesterday, we took the opportunity to take our Viking shields out to play. Afterwards, we gathered together for a photo. Don’t our shields look great?
VIKING LONGSHIPS
We have been learning about Viking Longships. We read the book How to be a Viking by Cressida Cowell. We loved the watercolour illustrations. Last week, we used watercolour paints to make a sea scene. Then this week, we stuck our own illustrations of Viking longships on top! Here are some photos of us painting. Scroll down to the bottom to see the finished pictures!
VIKING SHIELDS
Today we painted Viking shields. We had so much fun! We are not quite finished yet, but here is how they are looking so far:

You will also find the new Curriculum Information for Term 3 under the Curriculum Information tab.
As always if you have any problems or questions please email me at gw18simpsonrebeccaam@glow.sch.uk .

HAPPY CHRISTMAS JUMPER DAY
We took part in Save the Children’s Christmas Jumper Day today. Don’t we look great in our jumpers?!
THE TINY SEED
We read the Tiny Seed by Eric Carle. We learned about seed pods and wrote our own stories about the Tiny Seed. We also painted some lovely flower pictures.
WELCOME BACK!
Welcome to Primary 3B’s Class Blog!
My name is Miss Simpson and I am your child’s class teacher. Mrs Nicolson is also in our class to support where needed.
Across the school this term we will be focusing on two of Sound Primary School’s values; Safety and Happiness. We are all learning to work together in a new way in order to maximise everyone’s safety and make sure that everyone has a happy experience at school.
Initially our class curricular focus will be on Literacy, Numeracy and Health and Wellbeing along with interdisciplinary learning through our class topic Healthy Bodies.
Specialist Timetable
Primary 3B’s specialist timetable can be seen below:
Tuesday – Art with Mrs Sinclair
It is not essential to provide an art apron for your child however should you wish to please make sure that it is labelled and note that it will be stored in school.
Wednesday – P.E with Mrs Ritchie
The school asks that all pupils come to school with a jacket and that they are dressed in suitable clothing for taking part in P.E. outside e.g. trainers, joggers or leggings, a t-shirt and a sweatshirt or jumper. Pupils do not require a separate PE kit. During term 1 all P.E lessons will be outside within the school grounds where weather allows.
Thursday – Music with Mrs Jamieson
