This week is Maths Week at Sound School. P6a will be carrying out additional fun activities to support their maths learning. These will include:
We have been working on our leadership and communication skills while buddying with P2a. Our P6s have paired up with a P2 and have been helping them with their reading this week. Our P6s chose a book to share with the P2s and then they listened to the P2s reading their own reading books. Here is what P6 had to say about it:
“It was amazing!”
“It was really fun!”
“We were reading Superworm and having fun.”
“P2s were really good at reading. They did a good job pronouncing big words.”
As part of our Human Body topic, we have been learning about what blood is made of. We used cheerios, marshmallows, pom poms and water to demonstrate red blood cells, white blood cells, platelets and plasma.
Today a group of 6th Advanced Higher Biology pupils from the Anderson High School visited our class to tell us all about the systems of the human body as part of our class topic. We had a brilliant time.
Here is what P6a had to say about it:
“We learned about skeletons, the heart, the brain and the digestive system.”
“It was fun because we got to take turns going around each station. We got to stick labels on a skeleton and the digestive system.”
“We learned about memory and if you hit your head on the part of the brain where the memory is then you lose some memory.”
“We looked at pictures at the brain station and I liked how when we looked at it once we could see one thing and when we looked at it again we could see something else.”
“It was fun to have the 6th years visiting us.”
“They brought in cool equipment.”
