In Art p6 have been learning about the process of design.
Pupils were given with the tasks of designing a character pot, which had to have an open mouth; the rest was up to them!
During the first lesson, pupils were introduced to the idea of mind maps to generate different ideas and think through the various options for their pot. The next job was to choose their best idea, draw it out, in detail and think about the colours.
The following week we spent sculpting the pots. Pupils learnt how shape clay and join it using the scratching and smudging technique.
The final step was to paint our pots, we spent 2 weeks doing this to ensure the colours were bright and the pots were neatly finished.
The results were fantastic, excellent use of the visual elements p6, well done!
