- To operate an enabling model of service delivery which aims to work with key adults in the lives of children and young people in order to effect positive change.
- To respect the rights of children and young people and seek their involvement in decisions that affect them.
- To promote service delivery which adheres to the principle of least intrusion in the lives of children, young people, their families and carers.
- To promote integrated working and co-ordinated planning as part of the Getting it Right for Every Child (GIRFEC) approach.
- To promote Scotland’s vision for children to be safe, healthy, nurtured, achieving, responsible, respected and included.
- To enable all children and young people to develop their capacities as responsible citizens, confident individuals, successful learners and effective contributors.
