The Educational Psychology Service aims to promote mental health and wellbeing through:
- the development of positive nurturing relationships
- supporting inclusion and fostering feelings of connection and belonging
- being solution focussed and exploring and developing areas of strength, talents and interests

Mental Health and Wellbeing: whole school approach
In 2021, the Scottish Government developed a Framework to help local authorities and schools to develop and embed policy and practice within schools and the wider community:

Emotion Coaching
The service is supporting the use of emotion coaching as a way of developing emotional literacy in children and young people. Better emotional literacy promotes the development of positive mental health and wellbeing.
