We have had a busy term preparing for our Christmas Concert.
We have been working on developing our confidence, performance and team work skills.

We brainstormed some ideas of things we could make and sell at the Christmas Concert. We voted and Reindeer Dust got the most votes.
We used food colouring to dye the oats red and green.

As a class we wrote a rhyme to go on the labels.
Then we printed and cut the labels the right size.

We drew reindeers on every label.
We made 151 bags of Reindeer food and we sold out!
We made a profit of £132 to go towards our school funds.
As part of our Topic we learnt about what the Romans ate.
We made Roman bread and had a Roman feast.

The Romans ate while lying down! We tried to see what it was like. We were surprised to learn that they didn’t use cutlery or sit at a table like we do.
We made models using craft tubes.

Alice made a Quill our of a feather and brought it in for Show and Tell.

After learning about the Colosseum Bodi, Max and Caleb made a model of it during during our Soft Start.

We had a wonderful Activity day to celebrate all the hard work pupils have done in P4.
We started off with an Inflatable in the games halls while we listened to our favorite songs.
Then we went to the Scalloway Museum to visit, have a tour and learn about the Scalloway Castle. We also learnt more about the Shetland Bus and Kaare Iverson.
Then we went to Fraser Park before returning to school.

Lachlan made a power point presentation about his Great Grandad, Kaare Iverson.
He showed us the book he wrote and lots of photos of his grandad.
The class loved hearing about the amazing story of the Shetland Bus.

We have been learning about Measure this week in maths.
We have had experience of estimating, weighing and reading scales.

Homework: Amelia made a model of the Loch Ness Monster.
Sophie made a model of the Wallace Monument.

Erin brought her Fiddle in for Show and Tell. She played us the tunes she was playing at the Young Fiddler Competition.

We have started our new Topic, Scotland.
We have been learning about the Loch Ness Monster. We made models of what we think the Loch Ness Monster looks like.

We are continuing to practise our Spelling little and often through the week so we can become more confident. We played Spelling Snakes and Ladders in small groups.

Primary 4 had a lovely morning making and eating pancakes for Pancake day!
We developed our measuring skills. We weighed the ingredients using grams and millilitres.
We cracked eggs, whisked, cooked and flipped our pancakes. Then we chose our favourite toppings and enjoyed eating them together in the homework.
Later we wrote recipes. We had to remember what we did and make sure our recipe was in the right order.

In maths, we learnt how to collect, sort and organise data.
We each created a survey and choose a group of people to ask. We used Tally marks to collect and organise our data. Them we made bar graphs using Excel.

We have been improving our spelling by doing a daily practise to build our confidence.
We’ve been playing games and using Say Look Cover Write Check strategy.

We enjoyed a visit from Michael and Echo from “Dogs against Drugs”. Michael told us about his important job and let us try on some police equipment.
We also got to meet Echo who is just beginning his training in becoming a sniffer dog.

We have been learning about Fitness in PE. We took part in different activities to improve our fitness. We kept a record of our results to compare how we did in week 1 with week 4.
