In May some of us had a trip to the Folk Festival at Mareel. We went on the bus and had lots of fun listening to different instruments, songs and dancing together.

A trip to the movies!
Some of us went on a trip to Mareel to see some short films for young children. We had so much fun going on the bus and sitting in the big seats!
Play at Scalloway Nursery
We had a busy Term 1. Settling into routines, making new friends and exploring the setting.
Fire Festival and Up Helly Aa 2025
We loved seeing the Jarl Squad and the galley. We sang songs, marched around, dressed up, made torches, axes and hats and watched videos of the galley burning too. Then we used the interactive whiteboard to watch what happened in Lerwick. We saw some of our friends in the Jarl Squad there too, it was so exciting!

We have had a very busy start to the term at Scalloway Early Years, here is a snapshot of all the things we have been doing in the first few weeks back.

Folk Festival 2024
Our Preschoolers went on a trip to Mareel for the Early Years Folk Festival Concert. We went on a big bus to Lerwick to see a band called Tenement Jazz Band. They had lots of different instruments for us to listen to and we had lots of fun dancing!
Fire Festival 2024
We loved exploring the fire festival – dressing up, singing, making our shields and finally meeting our very own Viking Princess.
