Eleanor Hutcheon came into class and helped us investigate conductors and insulators. Some materials let electricity move through them and some don’t. If electricity can move through a material, it is called a conductor. If electricity can’t move through, it is called an insulator. We used our Hot Wire circuit to test materials for conductivity. We predicted whether playdough, string, wire, blu tack and paper were conductors. Then we tested! Our predictions were fairly accurate. We used our communicating, collaborating, curiosity and sense-making meta-skills.

- Build your own games controller- using the makey makey kits and a selection of conductive materials + programming a game in scratch.
