Home Learning 11th – 15th January

Hello Everyone,

Thank you to those of you that came to collect your child’s work from the classroom today. If you have yet to collect the pack, it will be available in the school porch on Monday morning.

All the written work is in your child’s blue bag along with an overview letter that has been included in this post and a more detailed weekly breakdown of the work to be completed. If you have any questions, please email me using the address in the letter.

Here is the overview letter: Overview

Here is the weekly grid for additional activities: Primary-1-and-2-Home-Learning-Grid-11th-Jan-1

Here is the information from Miss Rainey about the art activity: Art Activity 11th January

PE activities will be added during the week to this post.

If you have any questions, please get in touch via email.

Kind regards

Happy New Year

Hello Everyone,

Happy new year to you all. This return to school was not what I expected or hoped for, but I am sure we will all make the best of it and I am hopeful I will be seeing everyone again soon.

I am busy preparing three weeks worth of home learning and this will be available to collect at the classroom door tomorrow (Friday) from 1pm until 2PM. If this time is not suitable your child’s blue bag will be in the porch on Monday morning. The majority of their work is in their blue bag, but there will also be a weekly grid uploaded onto this blog page with additional, more practical activities and specialist activities from Miss Rainey, Miss Spence and Mr Sandison. There is also a letter from me with details of log-ins, email addresses and a breakdown of the daily activities in the blue bag.

As always, I am available online for support regarding home learning and my glow email address will be in your child’s blue bag and on the uploaded grid. Please do not worry; do not try to emulate school or stick to a rigid timetable, take it at your child’s pace and do what you can.

Kind regards

Mrs J. Irvine

Christmas Party Day!

Today we had our class Christmas party. We played games, danced and even had a ‘snowball’ fight! (cotton wool balls!) Apologies for the blurred pictures, but it was very exciting and everyone found it difficult to stand still! We went back to the classroom for party food and crackers then finished off the morning watching an online panto. Thank you to Miss Hutchison, who cam in especially, Miss Jamieson, who kindly dressed up to help hand out the gifts and thank you to the parent council for helping to fund the presents.

Christmas Lunch!

Primary school pupils enjoyed their Christmas lunch on Wednesday and P1/2 were no exception! They all loved having their lunch, but the sausages and pudding were the highlights for this class!

Bonfire Night

We have had a busy afternoon learning about bonfire night. Everyone enjoyed making rockets and thinking of sound words associated with fireworks. The children used oil pastels to make a firework picture, investigating how the colours could blend together for different effects.
