Willum’s (from P1/2) Mam Louise came in to speak about her job as a Pharmacist. She brought in lots of different types of inhalers and did a quiz to see if we knew the difference between types of sweeties and types of medicine. It wasn’t as easy to tell as we thought!
Merryn’s Mam visited our class to speak about her job as a Physics teacher. We learned about the 3 sciences taught at high school: biology, chemistry and physics.
We learned about different organs in the body, what a chemical reaction is and how to safely light a Bunsen Burner.
We also learned about the different types of jobs you can get when you study science.
We had a super day out at the Windfarm!
Mia’s Mam came in for a visit to speak about her job as a nurse. She showed us the uniform she wears and different equipment that is used in the hospital.
Jensen’s Dad came in to tell us about his job as a pilot. He showed us how to make paper airplanes which we had a lot of fun flying in the classroom!
We had a good day out for the Shetland Film Festival. We watched a film about Anne Frank’s diary. We had a the whole cinema to ourselves!

We have been learning o’clock and half past today. We have been busy making different times with playdough!
We learned how to say French greetings and ask how we are feeling. We enjoyed using the puppets for this!
