(Whats the time Mr Wolf?)

STEM challenge and all about rockets!

We love a bit of art and craft to learn where to find materials and make wonderful model rockets.

Outdoor Maths

We have been getting outside for some of our maths work this term.

Finding right angles in the environment.

Work on position and movement.

Finding the area of different spaces using tiles, hands, feet and even children!

It took 24 children to cover the tiger!

Bubbles came to visit

Freddie brought in Bubbles the tortoise to show us. He told us about how to look after a tortoise and shared lots of interesting facts about them.

Climate experts

The pupils worked in 4 groups each focusing on a different climate Zone. They used computers to research information, to print facts and collect photographs. They wrote out facts and drew pictures. They were very creative in their display of the information to create 4 fantastic giant posters to present to the class. Lots of great social skills involved in this learning.

Measuring the Weather

We made rain guages for collecting rainfall.

We used thermometers to check the temperature outside.

We made wind vanes to see which way the wind was blowing.

We also made pinwheel windmills and used an anemometer to see how much wind there was.

Some days were very cold and we investigated snow and ice and did experiments about melting ice and freezing water.

We collected our data every day and completed lots of work in class relating to our findings.

One Snowy Day……….

It was too snowy to stay indoors! so we went out to play……

When we got back in and warmed our fingers we got writing about what we had been doing.

Ozzy came to visit

Keira brought Ozzy in for her Show and Tell. She told us lots about him and everyone asked lots of really good questions. He loved being in the classroom and got very excited about going in his little bag.
