This term, we have been enjoying weekly outdoor learning sessions with our Play Practitioner, Aimee. We have been busy exploring, creating and learning together in all sorts of different ways!
The children have had plenty of opportunities for self-directed learning, from developing their risk-management skills through tree climbing to navigating friendships and relationships through imaginative role-play games. We have also taken part in adult-led activities, learning more about the wildlife and plants around us.
One particular favourite has been getting creative with chalk and water! The children love mixing them together to create colourful paint for decorating our outdoor spaces β or, of course, making magical potions that can do anything their imaginations can dream up! π§ͺ
The children have also been helping to shape our future outdoor learning sessions by sharing the activities they would love to do more of. Some of their ideas include:
βCan we do den building?β
βI love scavenger hunts!β
βCan we do a scavenger hunt where you have to find bugs?β π
We can’t wait to see where their ideas take us next!
