STEM: Electricity

Following on from our Vaila’s Windy Day topic, P234 have been investigating electricity.

They worked in co-operative groups to construct simple circuits using batteries, bulbs, switches and buzzers. there was a lot of trial and error but every group achieved success and built their own circuit.

This led onto constructing a model of a windmill powered by electricity. Each group had to construct a windmill that housed their circuit and kept it hidden but allowed the windmill to be turned on and off using a switch. Each group achieved not only their goal, but also displayed very good social skills like teamwork, co-operation, turn taking, listening and encouraging each other.
