Wild About Scotland
We were very lucky to have a visit form the Wild About Scotland team today. We found out all about beavers; where they came from, where they are in Scotland and what they like to eat. We really liked hearing about their lodges especially the part about the secret door!
We also got to feel the beavers fur and saw a replica beaver skull. We played a game to build a beaver and watched some films about beavers that were filmed in Scotland.

Brag Tag…
Some of the children asked for their photos to be taken for the blog as they were so proud of the work they had done today. You can see how well they have done and how much their skills are developing even after only 2 weeks. Well done everyone!

ICT Time!
Primary 1 are learning to use the computers at school. This term we are working on turning the machines on and off and using the mouse o point, click and drag. It was great fun today feeding the teddies and counting the ladybirds.

Numeracy
We are learning to recognise numbers in a variety of ways. Today we painted with the Numicon and spoke about the numbers on each tile.
It was very messy, but good fun!

Brush, Brush, Brush!
Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays are tooth brushing days in Primary 1. Jeni will come and take groups of children after break on these days and reinforce the good work being done at home to keep everyone smiling bright!

A Successful First Week!
Primary 1 have had a brilliant first week at school. They have been busy learning through play and beginning to complete some tricky tasks.
I have been really pleased with how well everyone has settled in and adapted to all the new routines. Well done everyone!

First Day of School
Primary 1 have worked very hard today and it has been a very positive start to the year. We have been playing in all the new play areas in our classroom, meeting new people, sharing our news and finding our way around the school. Everyone has had a really good day!
