The bairns were amazing…!! We had such a lovely class trip to Lerwick! We visited the “big play park,” the “secret picnic place,” the library, Islesburgh for lunch and a sneaky razzle, soft play… then another quick visit to the park! The weather dried up and we had a really super day! Thanks to Louise, Helen and Chloe for coming along for the day! And thank you to the bairns for the great day!
We were delighted to welcome back Sean (Esme’s dad) who did a fun and active input on electricity and focused in on circuits… we had home made battery costumes, circuits made out of children, circuits made out of wires… and everything else thrown in between! We had a super morning! A massive thank you to Sean for coming in and for all the hard work that went on behind the scenes!
We had Lauren, Libby, Calen and Rocco putting on a penalty shootout this (Monday) afternoon – and the bairns loved it! They went into two teams where Lewie won in team 1 and Leon won in team 2. They then had a final shootout, which was a very close call, but Lewie won in the end! Well done to P1/2 for joining in and thank you to P7 for organising a lovely afternoon!
Mrs Adamson and Primary 6/7 welcomed us into their class this week to show us how to create posters on Canva… and we had SO much fun! It was absolutely amazing watching the skills between the different stages and it was a brilliant session! Thank you so much to Mrs Adamson and P6/7 for having us along… and teaching us new skills!
This week we had Mrs Kerr along for a visit and she watched the children working on Play Projects… and she was amazed (as I was, as always!). We had some highlighting of key words in sentences and using them to make new sentences (in their own words), we had painting, we had books, we had diagrams, we had drawing, we had shadow pictures, we had dotty pictures… we had it all!! I am so lucky to work with these bairns!
This morning we went to Sandwick School to participate with the Edinburgh Science Show which was all about weather and climate change. They had a variety of activities to join in with and the bairns were super… as always!
We love getting outdoors!
We were very lucky to have the music tuition teachers on tour with a fantastic performance for us all. The bairns loved learning about all the different instruments and seeing if they could recognise the songs! What a fantastic morning!
An all time first for me…
We had a visit from Esme’s mam and dad, Claire and Sean, along with their jumping spider, Steven (aka Spidey).
