We have been missing Shetland’s Up Helly Aa festivals, so as part of our “Wider Opportunities” work we planned our own one! We learned a tremendous amount of new skills throughout this process, from preparing squad performances to galley-building, baking and dancing! The video below shows some of the highlights – we hope you enjoy it. ๐ย (Click on the image to access the video.)
Primary 1-3 recently had our Den transformed into Ghostbusters HQ! We had a fun couple of weeks as scientists building our own ghost-catching equipment and doing some experiments. We’re ready to believe you!
Our ‘home corner’ in The Den has been transformed into a grotto for the last week!ย The elves in Primary 1-3 have been busy wrapping presents, making snow globes and decorating cards – we’re all set for Christmas! ๐

The children loved wearing their pyjamas and taking part in Pudsey Day! We spoke about how Children in Need was all about raising money to help children. We enjoyed visiting the shop and making lots of Pudsey crafts!
The bairns thoroughly enjoyed taking part in a fire pit activity this morning. We have been speaking about how to be around a fire safely this past week and the children were able to apply this knowledge and demonstrate very safe behaviour around the pit. They loved having a go at lighting the fire using a fire steel and then cooking up some snack afterwards.
Here are some quotes from the children โ
While making a spark โI am so happy I did itโ
โItโs hotโ
โLook itโs got colours, orange and yellowโ
โYou only walk to the fireโ
โWe need to sit down to put our food onโ
โYou have to wait, it cools down, you have to blow itโ
