At lunchtime on Tuesday we held a special lunch for “Burns Night” to celebrate the life of Robert Burns.
Everyone stood while the haggis was brought in. Our P7 class “addressed the haggis” before we all sat down to a lunch of haggis, neeps and tatties, washed down by our National drink, irnbru!
Today we hosted an Aquaculture Careers event, organised by DYW colleagues.
During this event our pupils attended workshops delivered by our local employers including:
Workshops included investigating the biology of a salmon, racing to put on survival gear, programming robots to navigate around buoys.
Our breakfast club started today. Pupils helped themselves to cereal, toast, tea/coffee.
A great way to start the school day!
Celebrating the end of term and the Christmas holiday we held a short service sharing the story of Christmas and singing carols.
Our S4s and S3 confidently shared the readings.
It was fantastic to see so many of our families at our Mince Pies and Mulled wine afternoon. It was a great chance to chat and for the bairns to show off their Learning Stories.

This afternoon S4 hosted our Christmas Dance for our Nursery and Primary pupils.
The Secondary dance will be held this evening 1900-2100 hours.
The theme for this years dance is Casino!
Today we had our Christmas lunch – turkey and all the trimmings – delicious!
School closed due to road conditions – Friday 16 Dec 2022.
On Thursday 8 December 2022 our primary department opened the school doors and performed our Christmas Show Mr Humbug Sees the Light.
On Wednesday 7 December our school hosted a Senior Citizens Event organised and hosted by our S3 pupils.
Our visitors were first entertained by a variety of performers – singers, piano, guitar, drum and fiddle player – followed by a Christmas feast prepared by our canteen and ending with raffles.
