We had a wonderful visit from staff at the National Library of Scotland on Wednesday 13 May, as part of their special centenary tour.
In the morning, they worked with Upper Primary pupils, followed by an afternoon session with S1 and S2.
Justin Davis gave a fascinating presentation about libraries and the wide variety of careers connected to them. He also shared the oldest moving picture held by the National Library of Scotland, featuring Queen Victoria at Balmoral, and inspired pupils to try some creative writing of their own.
Laura Quinney introduced pupils to a range of fascinating maps and showed them how to explore the National Library’s online map service.
It was a brilliant, inspiring visit, and we are absolutely delighted they made the journey north to spend time with us as part of this milestone celebration!
