Tuesday 6th January – Snow Day 2!

Hi everyone, another day of snow.  Very cold today.  I have been outside taking some bonnie pictures of the snow.  Please share any you take.  You can email them to the school or you can share them on here.  Below I have added a few more snow day activities for you to try if you wish.

This term we are looking at Fractions so head on to topmarks and practise any fraction games.  Help cut up sandwiches into halves/quarters or use some pasta or even some coins and find half or a quarter of them.   Remember to look over our times tables from last term.  We were trying to really remember those facts.  2/4/8 times tables.  Lots of games on topmarks to help with those.  You could also do sumdog to practise lots of other maths skills.

Hope you can all open the attached snow day grid – it has some science to do with snow.  Taking some in and time how long it takes to melt.  Use some soft snow and some harder snow, ice bits etc.  Time how long it takes to melt.

Yesterday I suggested a cozy corner in the house somewhere.  Today you could tell me about the book you chose to read.  Write what it was all about or draw a favourite picture from it.  Draw a picture about something you did or made in the snow and write about it – ready to share back in class.
