Happy New Year P2-4. Hope you all had a lovely Christmas and New Year.
I hope you are all out enjoying the snow. There is lots of it. Here are some activities you could try when you are out and about:
- Make some snow sculptures either an animal, a shape or write the first letter of your name.
- Look at everyone’s footprints. Who has the largest or the smallest and who has the best grips underfoot.
- Go on a nature walk and look for animal prints in the snow. (I did this yesterday and saw sheep’s prints and the cat next door who had been across to our house!) Look around for other nature. I watched sheep huddling from my window the other day – all keeping each other warm.
- Make a family of snowmen. Make a snowman and then measure how tall it is – use your hands or something outside to help measure. Can you now build a shorter one?
- Persuade a family member to come out sledging. Great snow for that.
Once back inside you could try cutting out some snowflake patterns or make a snow day cozy corner and snuggle up with some books and a blanket. Make a nice hot drink and get warmed up!
Enjoy everyone and hopefully see you all soon for Term 3!
