Week 6 Bird Rescue!

Our p34 class found a sick guillemot in the playground.  It was tired and very poorly.  It was taken to the vets and has been bused back to full health being released on Thursday.  Our pupils loved the daily videos of his progress.  Good luck Gilbert!

Our block of gymnastics skills came to an end this week.  Pupils have loved the challenge this has brought.  Here is p67 working hard.

Haven club had a Winter Olympics theme this week.  Pupils created sculptures of skiers and snowboarders.

p67 were inspired by our meeting with pupils in Norway and Finland.  We listened to music by Grieg and Sibelius and then created our own music depicting a season in Shetland.

In p12 we have been finding out about Chinese New Year & discovering what animals we are in the Chinese zodiac. It seems we are mostly dogs and pigs. We made a collage of a horse, which has gone home to celebrate the Year of the Horse.
We’ve also been learning to tell the time and P1 have been investigating different ways to make 10. Everyone in P1 now has a reading book with words and is doing well.

P4.5 have been continuing their fractions. Learning the roles of the numerator and denominator and comparing different sizes of factions.

We have been continuing our persuasive writing. Learning to include introductions and conclusions and using persuasive language.

We have started our mini titanic topic. Making a timeline of what happened on the night and we are going I look at comparing the lies of different class of passengers and how our lives are different now.
