The Hamnavoe school will be closed on Tuesday 6th January 2026. If you are not out and about being busy in the snow here are some activities that could keep you busy at home. You can choose to do as much as you like. Please bring in your work once school has re-opened.

Fire Festival Song – Watch and listen to Loki the Joker. We are going to short of time to learn this so please have a go at home.

- Read some books yourself, or with a parent, for enjoyment.
- Play a board or card game like Uno or Scrabble
- Write about an experience you have had of the Fire Festival in the past maybe try an acrostic poem or a senses poem?

- Ice Art – build something from ice and snow. Take a photo and share to Mrs Robertson

Primary 4 to 7

- Build a snow viking
- Write a story about a Viking journey. Set the scene. Where does your journey start? Where are you going? Why? Who are you? Explore the adventures and experiences that unfold as your viking discovers the world beyond home. Think about introduction, character development, exploring the world and any challenges that they may encounter.
- Read a book or website linked to Vikings? Vikings – KS2 History – BBC Bitesize
- Create a page on an aspect of the Vikings you are interested in.
- Illustrate your page
- Brush up your timestables skills on Hit the Button Hit the Button – Quick fire maths practise for 6-11 year olds
