Week 2 Bonfire Night and Hamnavoe Reads

We’ve launched Hamnavoe reads this week.  Every week all pupils will read for at least 15 minutes something of their choice.  P7 are charting the progress.  There will be a film club, book sale and many other reading related activities coming your way soon!  Every week prizes for improved reading attitude will be presented.  We are working towards a Silver Reading Schools Award.

p12 are loving their active maths on number 5!

P67 sent in their 500 words entries each receiving a certificate from the BBC.

Dance is always popular at Friday Fun.

p45 designed our own islands and wrote about them as part of the writing project this week. As well as this, we thought about how they could generate power based on their location in the world eg. windmills, solar panels, tidal power

p34 are working in on length.  They loved doing outdoor learning with sticks in our grounds.

Pudsey is coming on Friday.  Currently Pudsey and Bertie are looking after the Parish Cup recently won by our Burra Football team.

p12 created a poppy field for Armistice Day.

p34 learned about safety with fire and fireworks.
