Wonderful Wednesday

On Wednesday we did Litteral Art. It was about archaeology. It was combined with litter. We found fossils on the Voxter beach. They were orange and white. The pupils and staff from the isles were gathering rocks. When we went back in we looked at them really closely. There is a lot more to rocks than you think. They have an exciting past. Then we got asked if we could write post cards to them. Here is a picture of what the lady drew on her post card.

Further on in the day we went to the fun run. It is a big fun run. It is very slippy as well. The hardest bit is the pole. It is really hard. The best bit is the slide.

Wednesday was a good day. IMG_4444

Funkey friday aka last day of Voxter

On Friday morning we had a swimming lesson at Brae. After washing our hair and body we went to Lerwick to have a PE lesson with Anne and Fraser. We were the first ones there so we got to play a game of tag it was fun! When Bellsbrae came we started to play some games. Most of the games were hard but I played 3 games out of 4.IMG_0520_JPG

Fun Thursday

On Thursday we did fencing (sword style). We used real swords but with no points, so IMG_0495_JPGwe were safe and we wore the gear. The gear was a helmet and a top.

I thought it souned like a virtual sheep but the others thought it souned like a sheep mixed with a duck. We did this on Friday the 13th of May. It was sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo fun. We did see a snipe they are small but not to small. They live in wet areas with lage tussocks of grass. We took a picture on a stone bird. Can you please click these…

Things we have learned today….

Butter and washing up liquid can get oil based paint out of hair.

Boiler suits let paint soak through them.

Too much paint on your brush causes lots of drips!

Miss Painter

Miss Painter has been here all week as part of her work experience.

She has read stories, helped design experiments, joined in all our activities from BookBug to Voar Redd Up, made visitors welcome, volunteered for tasks and shown initiative.

Thank you from everyone at Fetlar Primary School Miss Painter, we hope you come back to visit us again soon!

This feels like a variation on an enormous turnip story…

We found lots at the far end of the beach – we will have to go back again, but there were some great ideas for how to carry it back to our collection point!100_8053

Voar Redd Up – Part 1

We started our Redd Up this afternoon at Tresta. Patrick joined us from the RSPB so we could take a walk along the beach and identify some birds as well.

We gathered lots of rubbish but will have to go back to finnish off later.
