The children have all been very interested in numbers and challenging themselves with bigger and bigger numbers. Today we introduced a bigger movable number line up to 50 in the setting. Everyone was very interested in it and there was lots of great teamwork as they worked together to find what number came next.
To support the interest in numbers we have also introduced interlocking cubes and counting cubes at the tinkering table. There was lots of discussion between the children around who had the biggest tower. Counting the cubes in the tower to check.

Some of the children also used the number cubes to build towers that increased by 1 all the way up to 10.

We also practiced our spatial reasoning skills with some challenge cards, to see who could copy the pictures with the blocks and get all the cubes in the right places. Everyone did a great job.
