Today we used some of the left over pumpkins from Halloween to make some feeders for the birds. Together we scooped out the seeds from the pumpkins and made some holes to thread through some string to hang the feeders in the trees.
We talked about how with the colder weather there is not as much food around for the birds to eat and they can get hungry. The seeds will help keep the birds strong and healthy over winter.
We then all headed up to the garden to find some places to hang our feeders in the trees. We all stopped to listen to hear the birds in the garden and the children shouted out to let the birds know we had put some food out for them.
We are looking forward to heading back up to the garden to see if any of the birds have had any of the seeds.
