Cunningsburgh Primary 1/2 Blog 2022/23

We were delighted by a surprise visitor along with 20 cute friends. Dorothy popped in with 1 and 2 day old chicks for us to see!

This morning we marked the coronation with some morning teas. The canteen staff put on a selection of cucumber sandwiches, quiches, cakes and millionaire shortbread. A lovely morning was had by all!

Our big question this week was about Logos and by the end of the week, the bairns could share what a logo was and what makes a good one and some went on to create their own logo on laptops! A great week!

The bairns were asking about what a gym is like. We explored some photos and talked about the machines and equipment you might find in one. Then two went on to build this amazing gym in the class. They had a treadmill, punch bag as well as weights and they created membership forms and pricing.

This is our display of our daffodil paintings where we used paint to draw daffodils and mixed colours of green and peachy orange. P1/2 have made beautiful paintings. Well done .

This week our theme is: Scientists

As you can see from the photo…it has been a popular one! We have had drawings of scientists and potions, science experiments at home (amazing!), drawings on the interactive boards, potions made in class, recipes on how to make some potions, stories of mad scientists…  my list goes on and on!

We were delighted to come back to school to see the outside area had been done. The bairns were pretending to be astronauts as the ground was so “spongy!” And snack in the sunshine is always a favourite of ours.
