Hi everyone, happy snow day!
Below are a few suggested activities for your day – there is no pressure to complete any of these, but I would really love to see some photos of your time playing out in the snow! I hope you enjoy your day and that you manage to get outside.

Hi everyone, I hope you are managing to keep safe and warm!
Below is a grid with a few suggested activities for you to do on your day off. There is no pressure to do these activities, but you might be inspired to do a couple of them! I’m sure there are a few activities on there that you were planning on doing anyway… 🙂
Stay safe and hopefully I will see you very soon!

Mrs Dade was a bit forgetful with taking photos during weeks 5 and 6, but the class were certainly very busy!
In week 5 we had our final drumming session with Joy, and we were lucky enough to get an extra dance session.
There was some fun play going on with tall towers, animal weddings and boogieing to the class playlist!
In week 6 we visited the museum thanks to a trip arranged by Mrs Burr. We went to see the ‘Art’s Cool’ exhibition, which has art from school pupils from all over Shetland. Some of the work there was by Cunningbsurgh pupils, which made us feel very proud. The work done by other schools was very inspiring!
On the afternoon of the 1st December the class transformed the classroom into Christmas mode!
Check out the photos below.

In week 4 we learned about magnets and magnetism. This was the basis of our Discovery Club project for the week – to design and make a game that can be played with a magnet! The class really embraced this challenge, and came up with such fun and imaginative takes on the theme. We had exciting mazes, race course tracks, board games and fishing games!

In week 2 we saw a lot of creativity with junk model ice cream shops and fantastic Kapla designs!
In week 3 the pupils worked hard on sharing their learning on Remembrance Day, and of course there was room for creativity with more cool Kapla and a brilliant balloon animal!

Hello, and welcome to our first class blog post of 2022/23!
Week 1 of the term was a busy one.
Kate Hookham was in Shetland delivering training on outdoor learning, and on Thursday she came to our school to spend some time with us! The class headed outside for some den-building fun. This was awesome as not only did we learn about tarp designs and hitches, we also developed our teamwork and problem solving skills. It was loads of fun!
Friday afternoon was spent on creative time – pupils were allowed to use any items in the class to create something Halloween themed.
