Term 2 Week 1

Hello and welcome to this week’s blog. I’m Magnus and I’ll be sharing about what we’ve been doing.

Resilience. On Wednesday the class were learning about resilience. I interviewed the class to find out about what they had learned.

Magnus: What can you tell me about resilience?

Megan: It is when something is hard and you don’t give up.

Ava T: You are able to stand up for yourself and trust in your abilities.

Rebekah: You just keep trying even if you feel it is hard.

Eilidh S: You can use the ‘Power Pose’ to help you feel powerful and gives you a boost of confidence.

Big Question. For our Big Question this week, we’ve been learning about life in Scottish Castles. Each group had to learn about different stuff and there were 7 groups. The groups were learning about transport, food, hobbies, clothing, houses, health care and jobs. Each group set up a stall in the ‘Museum of Scottish Castle Life’ and then P1/2 and P3/4 came in to learn from us. It was fun and the small kids all seemed happy.

Royal Botanic Gardens Edinburgh Visit. On Friday afternoon, P5-7 had a workshop with Eve from the Royal Botanic Gardens in Edinburgh all about Scottish roots. We learned about the names of Scottish plants, stories behind them, tasted some different plants, created ‘Frankenstein’ plants and also thought about plants that held memories for us. We all had a super time and enjoyed learning about plants in a different way.

Thank you for reading my blog this week.
