Hello everybody! I am Megan and I can’t wait to share with you what we have been doing in P5/6/7 this week.
STEM DAY – Lego Robots. On Monday, a lady called Eleanor came in and taught us about the circumference of a circle. We also got to program Lego robots which was lots of fun.

The Choice to Defy – Gravity and Air Resistance. For our Big Question this week, we were learning about gravity and air resistance. To do this, Mrs A set us the challenge to make a working parachute for a toy figure. Everyone did very well making their parachutes but a big well done to Joe, Campbell, Eilidh R and Eilidh S for their winning designs.

World Book Day. For World Book day, we got to make lots of cool stuff, like wooden bookmarks and gift token designs. Mrs A also set us a competition challenge to design a cover for a book with the title ‘Lady Pancake and Sir French Toast’. The winner will be announced on Monday.

Playleaders with P2. Every Friday morning, the P6s lead playleaders for the P2 pupils. This involves planning games and running the sessions. It also allows the P2s to develop listening skills and being a good sport. We’ve all now had 1 shot at leading and will all have one more before the end of term.

Dogs against drugs. On Friday, Megan from Dogs against Drugs came in to speak to us about her work and keeping safe. We played a game to learn about different situations and what we should do, learned how to do the recovery position and the best bit, got to meet Bravo! He was so cute and playful.

P5 reading buddies. Every Friday, the P5s go to P1 and lead activities linked to reading. Miss Hunter cannot praise them enough and is so impressed with their planning and running of each weekly session. Today they got to go early for lunch with P1/2 as requested by the class.

Thank you for reading and have a nice weekend.
Megan 😊
