This week we learned about Viking longhouses. We discussed the different features that these may have had and then created our own. Some pupils decided to work in a group and some decided to work individually for this. Before they started to build, they planned out their design.

Igloo Challenge
This week, p1-7 were challenged to make an igloo. They were put into groups to do this. Each group was given a damp sponge, a paper plate and some packing noodles. They had to listen well to others in their groups and needed to use problem solving skills to build their igloo.

Christmas Concert
Well done to P1-7 for putting on a brilliant performance tonight! They have all worked really hard.

Snowman Instructions
This week, P1-3 made some snowmen using various materials. They worked well together to decide what they wanted to use and to build their snowmen. Afterwards, they wrote instructions for how to make a snowman.

Lego Scenes Writing
Last week we went outside and created our own scenes using Lego figures. Everyone showed good imagination and created interesting scenes. Some pupils showed good teamwork through working together to create a joint scene and some pupils worked well individually to do this. Following on from this, we wrote stories about our scenes.

Habitats
We have started to learn about different types of habitat as part of our topic. We discussed the different features of these and what types of animals might live in them. This week everyone had a chance to make their own habitat. Some pupils decided to use the examples and some decided to make up their own.
