P.E. students will focus on developing the significant aspects of learning (SALs) in physical education across all three lines of development – Movement skills, Competencies and concepts; Cooperation and competition; Evaluating and appreciation.
The Significant aspects of learning include the following;
- Physical competencies – kinaesthetic awareness; balance and control; coordination and fluency; rhythm and timing; gross and fine motor skills.
- Cognitive skills – problem solving; focus and concentration; decision making; creativity; prioritising; sequential thinking; multi processing
- Physical fitness – stamina; speed; core stability and strength; flexibility.
- Personal qualities – motivation; confidence and self-esteem; determination and resilience; responsibility and leadership; respect and tolerance; communication.
