Happy Halloween!

Pumpkins

Last week, the pupils made brilliant pumpkins by painting and decorating a paper plate.

Class Teacher PE

We played a game called ‘Destroy the Cauldron’ which was great fun.  The class was split into three teams which the ‘Ghastly Ghouls’ won!

Writing Magic Spells!

The pupils had great fun writing their own magic spells using either a recipe or number format.  They were very enthusiastic about the writing activity and were keen to use their best handwriting.  The magic spells also show great creativity and imagination.

Learning the 2 Times Table

Last term, the pupils enjoyed learning the 2 times table through undertaking lots of practical activities.  They worked very hard at learning to recite the 2 times table from memory and can recall facts in random order with increasing speed and accuracy.

Frankenbuddies and Picasso Witches!

We have been busy creating lots of Halloween inspired artwork since we came back to school. Last week we read the story of ‘Crankenstein’ then we drew and painted ‘Frankenbuddies’.

This week we read the story ‘A Magical Muddle’ and learned about the artist Pablo Picasso who used the style of Cubism in his artwork. We created amazing Picasso inspired witches using an online tutorial to help us. We think they are brilliant!

Art Lessons with Mrs Burr

P3A  Have been learning what a STILL LIFE is and making their own by making a collage of a FRUIT BOWL. They have used lots of templates which they have organised to make the healthy fruit for their collage. We discussed healthy eating to link to their topic.

Next we will look at Artist Fernand Leger and make body collages.

Our Skeleton!

The Anderson High School have kindly given us a model of a skeleton for us to look at this week. It caused a lot of excitement when it arrived… in time for Hallowe’en too!

We’ve been trying to identify the bones on our display and match it to the bones on the model skeleton. Some are easier than others!

Developing Our Digital Skills!

We have been using the tablets to develop our digital skills. We took photos of ourselves showing different emotions and added text to our pictures to explain which emotion we were showing. We manipulated the text by moving it around the image and we also changed the size and colour of the text.

We had lots of fun doing this task!

Autumn Senses Poems

The pupils did a great job of writing their autumn senses poem.  They used their notes from the walk around the school to help with writing the poem.  The pupils were keen to use their best handwriting and are looking forward to family members reading the poems at the open evening at the end of term.
