We are getting quite confident at coding Microbits in class. This week we took on a new challenge. Our task was to build a working wind gauge and to code two Microbits that could communicate information via radio. We discussed Metaskills at the start of the lesson and continued to focus on collaboration. We were working on listening to other peoples ideas and on being sensitive to their feelings. It was very important that we measured accurately, which took a lot of collaboration.
We had to be really creative, especially when things didn’t always work out as we had first planned. We had to design and build a structure that could measure tilt and find a way to securely and safely attach the Microbit to our structure. Once the Microbit was in place we went outside to measure the strength of the wind. The information was sent back to our second Microbit. We got some good results!
