Building in the snow is great fun and helps you develop your problem solving, team work and construction skills! Here are some photos to get you thinking, but you could build anything you wanted to!
We want to see your best snow structure- take a photo and post it using the link below and tell us what you have made! We will use the photos to make a display in school next week, so get thinking!
Good luck with your snow building everyone! Don’t forget to add your photos using the link above!
Wonder who can build a proper igloo?
Thinking like a scientist I wonder if the snow is too powdery to build with at the moment. I hope not. But I didn’t see many structures when I popped out earlier. I look forward to seeing what you build, big or small. That caterpillar is amazing!
I was thinking about the really powdery snow too – here is a link to an experiment I’m planning to do tomorrow to find out the density of the snow. I wonder if all the snow is the same density or if it is different? Maybe some other scientists could test their snow too? https://www.sciencefriday.com/educational-resources/how-dense-is-snow/
Can you add something to the snow to make it less powdery? How do Innuits build real igloos to live in ? Maybe you could research this and it could help you with your designs.
The carerpillar and dinosaur look like great fun. Could you build a character from a book out of the snow ?
