Try these phonics activities at home:
- Use your Jolly Phonic sound sheet to practise the sounds we have covered in class.
- I spy something beginning with s….?
- Can you think of any words that start with a t?
- What sound can you hear at the beginning of dog?
- Can you show me the action for the a sound? Can you guess the sound from this action?
- Listen to and sing along to the jolly phonic songs online.
- Make the sounds for example by writing, with play dough, chalk, paint.
- Look in your story books and see if you can find any of the sounds we have been learning.
- With your grown up put sounds together to make small words for example c…a..t is cat, h…e…n is hen.
- With your grown up and can you think of any words with the same sound that rhyme such as dog and log.

Numeracy
Try these numeracy activities:
- Number Formation – Use your number rhymes to help you practise writing your numbers checking that they are facing the correct way.
- Build a number line to 10.
- Continue to practise counting forwards and back from different numbers within 10
- Point to the different numbers on the number line. Think about what number comes before and after each of the numbers, what number comes in between two numbers.
- Count up sets of objects within 10 eg 8 teddies; remember to point to each object as you count. Add 1 more teddy to your set. Add two more.
- Add two sets of objects together, e.g. 3 stones and 2 stones. How many altogether?
- Count things in your house for example how many doors? rooms? stairs?
- Find numbers in your house.
- Use your fingers to show different ways of making each number.
