P7 RESIDENTIAL

pgl_dalguise

P7 parents – just a few reminders for our Dalguise trip. Only 4 sleeps! 🙂

We leave for Dalguise at approximately 1.15pm therefore the children have the option of coming to school as normal at 8.45am and bringing a packed lunch, or coming to school at 12.45pm having had their lunch.

If children come to school at 12.45pm please leave luggage at the bottom of the hill but children must come up to school to be registered. Please ensure that your child can carry their own bag and that the luggage tag is securely attached. Any medication must be handed to Mrs Hope on arrival at school, should be in a plastic box/bag and be clearly labelled with your child’s name.

We will use Groupcall to contact you on Monday 12 September to let you know everyone has arrived safely.

The coach will return to Neidpath Road car park on Friday at approximately 3.30pm.

We will NOT contact you again unless there is an emergency or the coach will be late in returning to Peebles on Friday. To make sure we have a current mobile number, we sent a test run on Wednesday 31 August – please contact the school if you did not receive this message.

travelling-books

We are hosting a children’s Book Fair from Travelling Books.

When: Monday 19-Thursday 22 September

Opening Times: 8.30-9.00am (8.45 – 9 for parents only)

3.25-3.55pm

Where: School Library

HELP WANTED: Could you spare half an hour to help run the Book Fair this year? We are looking for volunteers to serve customers, tidy the bookcases and distribute orders to pupils. If you or someone you know could help for just half an hour, please contact the school office. Thank you!

CALLING ALL BOOK LOVERS: The school receives a good commission on all sales and we plan to use this to refresh the classroom libraries. We would like pupils and parents to nominate books that you think would be good reads, from old favourites to new finds! We will have nomination sheets for each class at the Book Fair- please fill them up with your suggestions and help us make our class libraries even better! You can also tweet us your book recommendations @KingslandLearns
