What is this caterpillar doing?!
Is he practicing headstands? Doing yoga? Has he slipped and is desperately trying to climb back up?!
His body is making a ‘J’ shape and he is very still. Can you see the strands of silk attached to him? What is he making?
Looks like some of his friends are crawling up onto the lid to join him…whatever can they be up to?
Do you know why the caterpillars are hanging upside down?

I love how the caterpillars have grown because they are soooooooooo BIG and we think that they are making a cocoon now because they get big and make a cocoon. After they make a cocoon they will turn into butterfly’s. Will we let them go when they are butterfly’s?
We think the caterpillar is going to make a crysallis and then it’s going to turn into a butterfly or a moth. What will be the pattern of the wings of the butterfly or the moth. Could we put flowers out around the school so they will have some nectar to drink.
