Friction Experiments

P6/7 are learning about friction in science this week.  We made our own ice rinks and used different objects as ice hockey pucks…

We learnt that pucks need to be smooth, flat and hard to slide well across the ice. We found the Duplo Lego brick slid the best.

We also pushed and pulled straws in and out of wet sand and water.  It was a lot easier to move the straw in the water as there was less friction

Happy Shoesday

Today we were to wear shoes to school that made us happy. The JRSO’s organised this as it is walk to School Week were we’re encouraged to walk to school if you can. The shoes were brilliant. we had ones that flashed, sparkled. we even had slippers. Even our teacher wore shoes. One sandal and one slipper. It was really funny.

School Fair

On Saturday the 19th May the school hosted a fair to raise money. The stalls included a bouncy castle, beat the goalie, sumo suits, welly throwing, parent soaking. There was also a gin bar, ice cream truck, craft stalls and home baking. The home baking alone raised a fantastic £137.20 and the P7’s organised this. It was a really good day for it and it was good fun. We would like to say thank you to the Parent Council for organising it.
